The 3rd Quarter, from the Summer Solstice to the Autumn Equinox we feel the wheel turning, in my opinion, in a slower fashion. The days are still long, we are enjoying the bounty of the season, the harvest is coming in but there is this whisper in the back of our minds that the darker days are coming. This is the time we prepare our harvest for the next seasons. Whether this be literally, making jams, preserving our food for fall/winter or it is a more figurative preparation, we are all beginning to feel the shift. Let's bask in the last of the summer sun to soak in all the solar energy to hold us over to through the dark months.
I've chosen scents I feel represent this transition perfectly- I will walk through each one in the order we see them in. 

-Midsummer Night- Midsummer, or the Summer Solstice is where this 3rd quarter journey begins. It is the start of Summer, the peak of the Sun's glory, as it is the longest day of the year. Midsummer Night, while the shortest night of the year, is a magical time full of celebratory vibes and warmth. This scent is a rich, warm floral that is an intoxicating blend of Magnolia, Neroli, Orange Blossom, White Jasmine, and green leaves. It captures the Summer nights perfectly.
-Lughnasa- Next is Lughnasa, the cross quarter holiday that falls smack in between the two quarter days of the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox (August 1). This fragrance is a late summer celebration with warm lavender, and smoke from the Lughnasa fires.
-Moon Magic- As the nights grow longer, our connection with the Moon deepens. We can bask in its glow and start to comprehend the seasonal reflections within ourselves. Our Moon Magic fragrance is a blend of Black Currant, Cherry Blossom, Amber and White Musk. 
-Kitchen Witch-As this quarter is for preparing the harvest, preserving the abundance of the season, Kitchen Witch is a natural here in this set.  It feels like stepping into early to mid-September on the fragrant journey through the third quarter. Kitchen Witch is a concoction of spices, lemon peel, and vanilla sugar.

The witches' wheel of the year is broken down into 4 quarters and 8 holidays. The first quarter is from the Winter Solstice to the Spring Equinox, the second quarter from the Spring Equinox to the Summer Solstice, the third from Summer Solstice to Autumn Equinox and the fourth brings us full circle from Autumn to the Winter Solstice. Between the seasonal markers (Quarter holidays) are what are called cross quarter holidays. Originating in Celtic paganism we have Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasa and Samhain. The cross quarter holidays are celebrated at 15 degrees of the astrological sign they fall under, where the seasonal markers are celebrated at 0 degrees. 15 being the middle of a sign, 0 being the start, the cross quarter day is the middle of the season so it becomes a little easier to remember how that falls. As we start the new year, our first cross quarter holiday is Imbolc, celebrated at 15 degrees Aquarius around the 1-3rd of February. 
We have to remember that agriculture, nature, symbolism and seasonal shifts were things our ancestors paid great attention to. When to plant, when to eat, when to harvest, when to hunt- these were all planned by mother nature. When to plant, when to harvest, when to eat and when to hunt was vitally important bc your families lives literally depended on it.
